FBLA TRIVIA NIGHT
Delta FBLA will be hosting a trivia night on March 22 to help raise money for students attending the state leadership conference in April. The cost is $80/team of 8. For more information or to register a team, please email craig.hutson@deltarv.k12.mo.us .
BLOOD DRIVE
Thursday, March 13th we will host a blood drive from 12:30-5:30 in the FEMA building.
EARLY DISMISSAL / NO SCHOOL
Thursday, March 6 we will dismiss early. Drivers and car pick up will release at 12:15. Buses will release at 12:30pm

ROOT ED DECISION DAY (SENIORS)
RootEd Senior Decision Day will be March 10 @ 1130 in the high school lobby. All senior families are welcome to attend. There will be photo opportunities and we will have lunch provided for everyone that attends.

PARENT / TEACHER CONFERENCE
We would like to invite you to attend parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, March 6th from 2:00- 6:00pm in the high school cafeteria. This is an important opportunity to meet with your student’s teachers, discuss their progress so far this year, and partner together to support their continued growth. Conferences can take place in-person at the school, over the phone, or via email. SENIORS
Please check your mailbox in the counselor’s office. There are new scholarship opportunities and other important senior information.
A+
A+ students (especially seniors), please bring your updated A+ log sheets to Mrs. Elfrink so she can make a copy and update your parents on your status. As a reminder, A+ students need to complete 50 hours of documented tutoring or mentoring to be eligible for the A+ scholarship.
IRC TESTING
Several students will participate in the IRC testing in Ag Mechanics on Friday, March 7th. It is comprised of 7 different tests that include: Soil & Water, Small Engines, Welding, Plumbing, Electrical, Tractor/Equipment, General Overview. MERCY SOUTHEAST MISSOURI HOSPITAL COLLEGE OF NURSING AND HEALTH SCIENCES PREVIEW DAY
Prospective students interested in a career in health care are invited to the Spring Preview Day at Mercy's Southeast Missouri Hospital College of Nursing and Health Sciences from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 15. At the open-house style event, visitors can learn about health care careers, tour the college, see lab demonstrations and meet with the faculty, current students and health care professionals. Financial aid resources will also be available. Presentations regarding admissions will be at 9:30a.m. and 11a.m.
HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The English Department at Mineral Area College is gearing up to host our annual writing competition. We hope you’ll encourage your freshmen through seniors to participate. The top winners in each grade level will receive a prize. Winners in the Junior category will receive scholarships, which can be used for dual credit and dual enrollment courses. Entries need to be submitted by Friday, March 21 st by 4:00pm. All high school students are eligible to participate and the top winners in each grade will receive prizes and juniors will win a MAC scholarship (eligible for dual credit). Teachers will also receive a token of thanks from us if their students submit.
We're using a new submission system this year rather than using emails or sharing documents. The files need to be a .docx or .pdf format, so if students are working in Google Docs, have them download that document as one of the above formats and they can upload it.

The Missouri Bankers Foundation will award seven $1,000 scholarships to Missouri high school seniors pursuing a banking-related degree program in college. The flyer is in the senior mailboxes. Application and materials must be postmarked by Friday, March 7. See the counselor for assistance if you plan to apply.

-Show-Me to College Scholarship Opportunity High School Seniors
The Show-Me to College Scholarship, is open to graduating Missouri students who meet certain criteria such as a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5+ through at least seven semesters and a Student Aid Index (SAI) from the FAFSA of 12,000 or less. No essays are required, and you will need to upload your FAFSA Submission Summary, your high school transcript, and list activities. The application will open February 1 to April 1, 2025! The scholarship is $2,000 per year and renewable for a total of four years. If you do not apply for this scholarship this year, you cannot receive it going forward. The application is available on myscholarshipcentral.org/apply - then click on Apply Now, create an account or sign in if you already have an account, and then search for “Show-Me”. While on My Scholarship Central, you can also look for other scholarships you may be eligible for offered by Missouri-based nonprofit organizations and foundations.

STATE TECH SCHOLARSHIPS

CAMP STAT
Camp STAT is being offered by Saint Francis Healthcare this summer to 9th-12th grade students who are interested in the healthcare field. Participants will learn skills and see them applied in real healthcare situations. There are 2 sessions offered: Monday June 23-Friday, June 27 and Monday, July 7-Friday, July 11. Cost is $75. Online applications will be open on March 3 at 9am. The application deadline is March 9. After the application opens, apply quickly at https://www.sfmc.net/camp-stat/#application
MISSOURI ASSOCIATION OF RURAL EDUCATION
Applicants should be interested in teaching in a rural school system. Students must enroll in and attend a Missouri college or university. Scholarship awards will be in the amount of $750 each. Deadline: Received by March 14.
UCB FAMILY EPILEPSY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Eligible applicants will be diagnosed with epilepsy by a physician or have an immediate family member and/or caregiver of a person living with epilepsy. 3 scholarships up to $10,000 each. 30 scholarships up to $5,000 each. Apply at ucbepilepsyscholarship.com by March 15.
ROBERT J. STUCKEY ESSAY CONTEST

NAMI MISSOURI'S YOUTH AMBASSADOR MENTAL HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI DISTRICT FAIR FOUNDATION EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship is open to any college level applicant representing the Southeast Missouri District Fair service area. Applicant must have been an exhibitor at the Southeast Missouri District Fair. $2,500. Deadline April 1.

ORAN KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP
The Oran Knights of Columbus Council 4311 offer a total of four scholarships of $1,000 per scholarship. These are available for entering college freshmen. Applicants must be members or are the son or daughter of an active or deceased member of the Oran Knights of Columbus Council 4311. The deadline for submission of applications is April 25.
RIVER CITY RODDERS SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to a graduating senior at a high school located in the Cape Girardeau area who will be attending a 2- or 4-year vocational institution in the next academic school year with a focus on automotive skills. $750. Deadline for submission April 15.
CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants should have an interest in furthering their education by engaging in studies related to agriculture or other fields that benefit rural life. $500 scholarship to be used to enter post-secondary training (college or vocational training). Must be a graduating senior from Cape Girardeau County. Applications must be received by April 11.
DREW JONES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
To apply, you must be a graduating senior and have one or both parents deceased, be applying to a 2- or 4-year college, university, or technical training school, and demonstrate financial need. Application in senior mailboxes. Deadline May 1.
ACT OFFER
Get two ACT tests for $99! (regular ACT test price is $65). From now through March 16th, students that sign up for the April, June, or July ACT will have the opportunity to select a bundle for $99 and get a voucher for a second test anytime through Summer 2026. Go to act.org for more details.
ACE Tutoring/ACT Prep Course
ACE Tutoring is offering 2 ACT Prep Courses. The first is on Wednesday, March 26, at the RPDC Building on Broadway in Cape Girardeau. Their second ACT Prep Course is Monday, March 31, at Jackson High School. Both events are open to students from area schools. Course covers all four content areas. Cost is $99.
